In Patch 10.0.7, there are many reasons to visit the Forbidden Reach:
By simply dragonriding to the north of the Waking Shores, you can reach the Forbidden Reach at any moment, but doing so will only reveal an isle with few activities. Starting atop the Seat of the Aspects in Valdrakken, you must complete a sequence of questlines to access all features of the Forbidden Reach:
Following this, you receive more tasks in the Forbidden Reach to unlock various systems there.
Players will frequently travel to the Forbidden Reach in order to investigate the enigmatic Zskera Vaults. Players can acquire the Onyx Annulet, a potent ring that enables effect customisation through socketable Primordial Stones, by exploring the vaults housing Neltharion’s long-forgotten experiments.
The Forbidden Reach offers a variety of things to do, as detailed below:
Primalist gear tokens can be obtained from a variety of Forbidden Reach activities. When used, these tokens become ilvl 385 Primalist gear. These Bind on Account tokens can be used to quickly equip alternate characters. For all slots, primalist equipment tokens are available.
Untapped Forbidden Knowledge can be utilized to upgrade the ilvl385 pieces to ilvl395 in addition to the gear tokens! They may also be obtained as a drop from the majority of Forbidden Reach activities, usually from rares. Once acquired, you can use them to enhance Primalist gear at any gear upgrade NPC. If you don’t want to leave the Forbidden Reach, you can upgrade these through Researcher Baneflare at Morqut Village.
In the Forbidden Reach, there are fresh Daily and Global tasks. Once the major activities in the Forbidden Reach are unlocked, there are a few World Quests spread across the reach, including Elite World Quests, Pet Battles, and Dragonriding Races, as well as a variety of Daily Quests that can be found in Morqut Village.
Both Daily and World Quests award reputation with the Dracthyr factions Obsidian Warders / Dark Talons. Each Daily Quest awards 450, each World Quest awards 150.
The Wrathion vs. Sabellian system is renovated and available in the Forbidden Reach. The same is true of the Renown Envoy. You can select a significant Dragonflight Renown faction each day to operate as an ambassador for. You will receive a Favor bonus for the side you choose to envoy, which will increase all reputation gains with that faction by 10% for the day. You will also receive an additional daily for that reputation, which grants reputation with that Renown, the Obsidian Warders/Dark Talons, and Elemental Overflow, in addition to the reputation buff.
In Morqut Village, there is a table close to the Faction Envoys where you can select a faction to represent.
Additionally, there is a minor Renown catch-up system in the form of Dragon Isles artifacts. After completing a brief questline in Morqut Village to unlock the catch-up, you will have the opportunity to loot artifacts from activities in the Forbidden Reach. These can be exchanged for boxes that grant Renown reputation tokens.
Each Renown Envoy NPC also offers random goods for sale in addition to goods that are useful in the Forbidden Reach. The following is a list of everything that each Renown Envoy NPC sells:

Every few of hours, Evolving Storms, a new World Event, take place in the Forbidden Reach as a minor continuation of the Primal Storm events in the Dragon Isles. Every couple of hours, evolved storms occur in front of Froststone Vault.
You can see on the minimap when the event is up.
This event consists of two phases:
There are four types of Evolved Storms event, and each event awards Elemental Overflow, Leftover Elemental Slime for the Gooey Snailemental mount and a Condensed Magic stone matching the type of Evolved Storm event:
Around the Forbidden Reach, there are several rares and events to be found in three categories: Forbidden Hoards, regular Elite Rares, and Profession Rares.
Every 30 minutes, chests called Forbidden Hoards appear in the Forbidden Reach. Once they’re up, Forbidden Hoards become visible on the map, making it simple to find them.
These chests are encircled by elite mobs and are sealed until all of the elites are eliminated. Forbidden Hoards are significant because they are the only sources that can be relied upon to yield Zskera Vault Keys, but they can also drop Elemental Overflow, Primalist gear tokens, and Untapped Forbidden Knowledge.
The Forbidden Reach has 16 rares that can naturally spawn. When available, these rares appear on the zone map. They are all Elite monsters with high health, making them challenging for most classes to solo. All common Forbidden Reach rares have the potential to drop Primalist gear tokens, Zskera Vault Keys, Untapped Forbidden Knowledge, and Elemental Overflow.

New profession rares Forbidden Reach rares have a slightly different summoning process; they require Artisan Curios, which are artifacts made by artisans.
Each profession has a base item that results in a summoning rare for a particular rare, and all base items drop from Forbidden Reach activities like killing mobs and rares. Fishing, herbalism, mining, and spinning are examples of professions without crafting. The Artisan Curio used to be able to summon rare drops for those professions simply from gathering reagents.
The foundation goods used to make artisan curios are bound when they are picked up, but the finished curios used to summon rares are not bound and can be sold in the auction house, making it easier to locate the precise curios you might require. Each recipe for an Artisan Curios costs 10 Artisan’s Mettle and may be obtained from Merchant Hag’arth by the dock in Morqut Village. Happily, Clerk Goldspark near the pier in Morqut Village can send Crafting Orders in the Forbidden Reach for you! You can loot an item for a profession you don’t currently have, but you can only submit a Crafting Order for the specific Artisan Curio!
Profession rares have a chance to drop Primalist gear tokens, Zskera Vault Keys, Untapped Forbidden Knowledge, and 5 Artisan’s Mettle after their first kill of the week, in addition to crafting materials for the profession to which they are associated. The buff Summoner’s Luck, which lasts for 30 minutes or until the rare summoned is killed, will be given to the person who summoned it. The summoner receives additional crafting materials from this perk, often Rank 3 materials.
