In the New World, Arcana is a Crafting Trade Skill. Arcana is a Crafting talent that specializes in the creation of Magical Weapons such as Staves. Arcanists may also create Potions and Tinctures, which are consumables that deliver a range of benefits such as health and mana restoration, boosts, and the elimination of detrimental effects such as Poison. Trade Skills are a wide range of non-combat abilities that the player may learn and master. Crafting Trade Skills focus on the creation of a wide range of things ranging from Weapons and Consumables to ammo and furnishings.
Pt.1 of the New World Arcana
Arcana is a broad Crafting talent that encompasses a wide range of things such as magical weapons such as Fire Staves and Ice Gauntlets, as well as Potions, Weapon Coatings, and Tinctures. Arcanists may also execute Elemental Infusions, which combine Elemental Essences to create more potent ones. Arcana makes use of resources and materials gathered via Gathering and Refining talents. A higher Arcana level allows players to construct better, more powerful weapons and consumables, as well as expand the Gear Score range of craftable weapons.
Arcana is done in Settlements at an Arcane Repository. Arcane Repositories have a Tier level that may be raised by completing Town Projects. It should be noted that each weapon has a tier level need in order to be crafted. This tier level relates to the tier level of the Arcane Repository. If your town’s Arcane Repository level does not fulfill the criterion, you must either raise it or locate another community with a higher tier Arcane Repository. Crafting in the Arcana line also necessitates the player having the relevant Arcana level. Leveling up in Arcana is a simple procedure. Players only need to keep crafting weapons and consumables to advance in the skill. Collecting resources, on the other hand, is more complicated and can be more challenging.
In New World, the arcana profession allows players to create magical weapons, potions, and tinctures. Magic Weapons may be made from Tier 1 to Tier 5, and the Arcana profession allows you to craft weapons with varying rarities ranging from common to legendary.
Arcana may be used to manufacture a variety of potions, including healing potions, mana potions, regeneration potions, focus potions, and encumbrance potions. Along with potions, you may make weapon coatings, tinctures, wards, and conduct elemental Infusion, which transforms motes you collect into stronger ones that can be utilized in higher grade arcana making.
To begin using arcana, just gather some raw materials, travel to an arcana station or campfire, then hit the default key of “E” to begin making. Arcana is restricted to healing potions, mana potions, blight tinctures, and corruption tinctures over a campfire.
When deciding where to go to craft, keep the arcana station tier in mind. You will be limited to creating goods of the same tier as the station you are using, thus if you want to make tier V potions or weapons, you must find a tier V arcana station.
Once you’ve gathered the appropriate raw materials and located a suitable location to make, simply choose the item you want to craft on the list and click the blue CRAFT button, or use the slider to craft multiples of the same thing if you want.
Every time you manufacture an item at the arcana station, you will gain experience in arcana crafting. The amount of crafting experience you receive is determined on the object you create. You will obtain arcana levels as you gain experience in the arcana profession. As you progress through the arcana levels, you will be able to make higher tier goods.
TIP: While you’re initially starting off, pay attention to the drop down choices when creating various goods. Depending on the object you’re making, you’ll be able to select from a variety of materials. Some products require particular ingredients and will not be available through the drop down selections. When the drop down menu appears, make sure you’re not using your higher tier resources if you’re only attempting to level up your arcana skill.
Choosing rarer resources does not give you more crafting XP. When you use higher tier resources to build weapons, you will raise the gear score values and have the option of making a higher gear score item. Using uncommon minerals for consumables does not improve the consumable. If you utilize higher tier ingredients, you will be able to make more goods, but the item’s quality will not alter.
It’s worth mentioning that you may store your raw materials (this applies to all crafting, not just arcana) in a town and still use them at the arcana station. You must be in the same town where the objects are housed, but they do not have to be in your inventory.
A little word on the user interface. While creating consumables, you may encounter a notification that states “No bonus may be given to this item.” This section is dedicated for making objects with traits and bonuses. For example, if you use an Arcana station to make a weapon, you may employ unique resources to give your crafted item a specific benefit, and you can craft using Azoth to improve the odds of your item having characteristics and gem slots.Because arcana consumables do not have qualities or perks, you do not have such options accessible while constructing them.
Potions and Their Consequences
Health Potions – Use these to immediately restore some of your health. The higher the tier, the more health you get when using the item. After consuming a health potion, you must wait 30 seconds before consuming another.
Mana Potions – Use to recover a part of your mana instantaneously. The higher the tier, the more mana you earn when using the item. After consuming a mana potion, you must wait 15 seconds before consuming another.
Regeneration Potions – These potions can be used to replenish both health and mana. When activated, you will regenerate X percent of your health and X percent of your mana every 1 second for 10 seconds. The quantity recovered over 10 seconds is determined on the tier of potion used. After using this potion, you must wait 30 seconds before using another regeneration potion. After eating a regeneration potion, you can utilize a health or mana potion.
Use Focus Potions to recover a percentage of mana every 1 second for 60 seconds. The quantity regenerated varies according on the potion’s tier.
Encumbrance Potions – Use to temporarily boost your encumbrance limit by a predetermined amount. Tier 3 raises the restriction by 50 seconds for 120 seconds, 75 seconds for 150 seconds, and 100 seconds for 180 seconds. These potions cannot be stacked.
Coatings for Weapons
The arcana profession can also be used to create weapon coatings. Each adversary kind in the game has its own coating, including creatures, lost, corrupted, ancients, and furious earth.
Weapon coatings from Tier II to Tier V may be crafted. When you put the manufactured coating on your currently drawn weapon, you earn a percentage damage increase against the enemy type for which you crafted the coating. The coating will be removed after a certain period of time or when you equip your weapon, whichever comes first. Coatings can stack with weapon attributes and can only be applied to one weapon at a time.
Tinctures
Tinctures will cure specific ailments and provide you with resilience to certain ailments for a set period of time. Tinctures are classified into two types: Blight Tinctures and Corruption Tinctures.
Consuming a blight tincture will completely eliminate the blight affliction and provide you with a 5-minute immunity to the blight affliction.
Pt.2 of the New World Arcana
Consuming a corruption tincture will completely eliminate the corruption affliction and provide 5 minutes of resistance to the corruption affliction.
Tier II – Increases corruption absorption by 25%
Tier III – Increases corruption absorption by 89%
Tier IV – Increases corruption absorption by 95%
Tier V – Gain immunity to corruption
Tinctures can be made in a camp or an arcana station of the proper rank.
Tinctures cannot be combined. If you drink a blight potion and then immediately drink a corruption potion, the blight affliction will still be removed, but the blight resistance will be overwritten by the corruption resistance.
Potions for Warding
Ward potions are potions that, when taken, augment your damage absorption against one of the five opponent types: Ancients, Angry Earth, Beast, Corrupted, or Lost. They are only available between tiers III and V. After taking damage from that enemy type a specific number of times, you will get improved damage absorption for a certain period of time.
Tier III – After sustaining damage 5 times, increase damage absorption by 5% for 20 seconds.
Tier IV – After sustaining damage 10 times, increase damage absorption by 10% for 20 seconds.
Tier V – After sustaining damage 15 times, increase damage absorption by 15% for 20 seconds.
When doing expeditions or cultivating a certain opponent type in the open world, they may be quite handy.
These potions have a common cooldown of 120 seconds.
Potions for Absorption
Absorption potions are potions that, when taken, boost your damage absorption against one of the five elemental types: Arcane, Fire, Lightning, Nature, or Void. They are only available between tiers III and V. You will have boosted absorption by a certain amount for a certain period of time. These potions cannot be combined. At any given moment, only one can be active. These potions have a common cooldown of 120 seconds.
Tier III – Increase absorption by 9% for 30 seconds.
Tier IV – Increase absorption by 12% for 30 seconds.
Tier V – Increase absorption by 15% for 30 seconds.
Infusion of Elements
The process of merging motes to produce wisps, wisps to generate essences, and essences to make Quintessence is known as elemental infusion.
Motes may be located in the open world (all mote locations can be identified using our interactive map) and are utilized in a variety of arcana recipes. Motes are classified into seven types: Air, Soul, Life, Fire, Death, Earth, and Water are all elements. When crafting higher-tier goods, you may need to substitute a wisp, essence, or quintessence for the collected mote. You’ll need to be at an arcana station to combine the mote with the higher rank component.
The following items are required to make each stage of elemental infusion:
5 motes Elemental Wisps (Tier III)
4 wisps Elemental Essences (Tier IV)
Tier V Elemental Quintessence – 3 Essence
Materials Needed
You will need to employ all of the collecting resources in this game, such as fishing, mining, skinning, and harvesting, to get the materials you need to level your Arcana talent.
It will take a long time to obtain all of the stuff needed to fast level up. The following are the supplies you will require:

When practicing Arcana, you can gain extra XP for several of the abilities connected to Arcana Crafting Skill. Mining and Harvesting are the two primary sources of elemental materials for Arcanists, which are necessary for this talent.
The following are the talents that rely on Arcana:
Mining and Harvesting are two important sources of elemental materials for arcanists, and both are required to get the most out of this trade skill.
It’s worth noting that materials for any Crafting skill may be purchased from other players via trading, thus players can still be successful in Arcana even if they invest in other skills, although doing so necessitates using the game’s economy system.
Item Yield & Gear Score
Leveling up Arcana in the New World increases the Minimum and Maximum Gear Score of your constructed equipment by levels. Boosting the Maximum Gear Score opens up the possibility of crafting better things, whilst improving the Minimum Gear Score shortens the Gear Score range, making it simpler to construct items at the upper end.
Weapons of Tier II
The Maximum Gear Score for Tier II Crafted Weapons increases by 5 points every 5 levels, reaching a maximum of 75 at level 70.
Starting at level 40, the Minimum Gear Score for Tier II Crafted Weapons grows by 5 points every 10 levels, reaching a maximum of 20 at level 70.
Weapons of Tier III
Beginning at level 50, the Maximum Gear Score for Tier III Crafted Weapons increases by 5 points every 5 levels, reaching a maximum of 75 at level 120.
Starting at level 90, the Minimum Gear Score for Tier III Crafted Weapons raises by 5 points every 10 levels, reaching a maximum of 20 at level 120.
Weapons of Tier IV
Beginning at level 100, the Maximum Gear Score for Tier IV Crafted Weapons grows by 5 points every 5 levels, reaching a maximum of 75 at level 170.
Beginning at level 140, the Minimum Gear Score for Tier IV Crafted Weapons raises by 5 points every 10 levels, reaching a maximum of 20 at level 170.
Weapons of Tier V
The Maximum Gear Score for Tier V Crafted Weapons increases by 5 at levels 150, 165, 180, 190, and ultimately reaches 25 at level 200.
Leveling will not enhance the Minimum Gear Score for Tier V Crafted Weapons.
Leveling up in Arcana will also increase your odds of producing more items every craft. This extra probability is only applicable to Consumables and other Arcana created goods, such as the infused higher-tier Elemental Motes. This does not applicable to Weapons that have been manufactured.
The likelihood increases by 0.10 percent every level, reaching a maximum of 20.00 percent at level 200. However, keep in mind that many made items have a negative Base Extra Items Chance. The Tier III Strong Health Potion, for example, has a basic probability of -2 percent, and creating it with an Arcana skill level of 100 (10 percent Extra Items Chance) provides an 8 percent chance of generating additional items every construction.
Using higher-tier or rarer resources during the crafting process might also increase the likelihood of making more things. There is also equipment that you may wear to increase your crafting production.
Pt. 1 of New World Arcana Leveling
Leveling up in Arcana enables for the creation of more powerful weapons with greater basic Gear Scores, as well as the possibility of imbuing them with Perks or a Gem Socket. It also enables you to make stronger, more effective consumables and conduct higher grade Elemental Infusions. Arcana leveling up provides new recipes as well as more powerful versions of old recipes.
In the case of Arcana, crafting Potions is the most effective way to level up the talent. While making Weapons yields more XP each craft, the cost of crafting them rises dramatically as you progress through the stages, and obtaining the resources may be time demanding. With Potions, you may acquire all of the essential materials with only the Harvesting skill, while simultaneously increasing both skills. You will be creating several tiers of Health and Mana Potions. It is entirely up to you whether you want to make just Health or Mana Potions or a combination of the two. It is strongly advised to utilize a combination of both, as there will be some overlap in resources acquired.
Keep in mind that you must utilize an Arcane Repository of suitable Tier at each stage of the leveling process (i.e., Tier IV Repository to craft Tier IV Potions). Alternatively, if your Camp is of adequate Tier, you can make all Potions. However, progressing through the Camp’s Tiers necessitates a higher character level, therefore it may not be the ideal option for early to mid-game players.
Levels 0 through 1
Getting Arcana to Level 1 is pretty simple, and you’ll most likely have accomplished this objective within the first hour of playing the game. It should be noted that manufacturing a Weak Health Potion necessitates the use of 1 x Tier 1 Medicinal Reagents, which are Hyssop and Bullrush Cob. You can make the potion with any one. A Weak Mana Potion takes 1 x Tier 1 Magical Reagent, which is entirely made up of Briar Buds. This pattern is utilized in the creation of all Potions. Medicinal Reagents are required for Health Potions, whereas Magical Reagents are required for Mana Potions.Higher tier potions will also take more resources, but the principle stays the same and you may utilize a wide range of resources to get the same effects. Furthermore, each potion will require 1 x Water, so gather some whenever you have the chance.
Levels 1-50
To reach Level 50, you need start making Tier II ‘Common’ Potions. It will take around 460 Potions at 24 XP per craft. The following materials are required to make both Potions:
Typical Health Remedy
Tier II Medicinal Reagents: Sporebloom Fruit / Platecap Flesh / Gillflower Gills / Glowing Mushroom Cap / Lifebloom Stem
Potion of Common Mana
1 Ter II Magical Reagent: Bumbleblossom, Tanglewisp, Suncreeper Tendril, Soulsprout Stem
1 bottle of water
As a general guideline, because there are so many different resources that may be utilized, you should collect almost everything you find in a particular agricultural region. Platecap Flesh and its Platecap Fungus node may be found in great densities across Windsward. Gather any Lifebloom Stems you discover as well, since they may be used to make the same Potion. Petalcaps are also rather common in the region, and you should make a point of collecting them because they may be utilized as components in higher Tier Potions. You’ll want to head to Weaver’s Fen for the Mana Potions because there’s a lot of Bumbleblossom there.
Levels 50-100
Elemental Reagents are now required as Materials for Potions beginning with Tier III. To reach level 100, you’ll need around 960 Potions. Earth Reagents are required for Health Potions, whereas Air Reagents are required for Mana Potions. The following materials are needed to make Tier III Potions:
Potent Health Remedy
Tier III Medicinal Reagents: Halibut Viscera/Sculpin Scales/Gleaming Lodestone/Lifebloom Leaf
Petalcap / Loamy Lodestone / Earthshell Tail / Earthspine Stem / Earthspine Leaf / Earthspine Flower / Earth Mote / Earth Wisp / Earth Essence / Earth Quintessence
1 bottle of water
Mana Potion of Great Strength
Tier III Magical Reagents: Mushroom Fins, Paddlefish Gills, Catfish Whiskers, Snail Slime, Frogfish Tail, Crystalline Lodestone, Soulsprout Leaf
Twistcap Spiral / Suncreeper Tendril / Shocking Lodestone / Lightning Beetle / Shockbulb Stem / Shockbulb Leaf / Shockbulb Flower / Air Mote / Air Wisp / Air Essence / Air Quintessence 1 x Air Reagents
1 bottle of water
At this level, you can also harvest resources by utilizing your Fishing and Mining abilities. Elemental Reagents may be found in a number of locations, including mining nodes. Please keep in mind that in order to acquire the useable resources at this Tier, you must have Mining at Level 50. The eastern border of Monarch’s Bluffs provides a plethora of Lifebloom Plants and Lifejewels for your Medicinal Reagents if you’re making Health Potions. Monarch’s Bluffs also features a large number of Earthspine Plants that can produce Stem, Leaf, and Flower, as well as Earth Motes, all of which may be utilized as Earth Reagents.
You may already have some Mushroom Fins for your Mana Potions if you’ve been mostly gathering mushrooms as instructed. These are a pretty frequent fungus drop. The Shockbulb Plant may be found in a variety of locations, including First Light and Cutlass Keys, as well as Northwest Everfall. This plant will provide you with an abundance of Air Reagents.
Levels 100–150
Starting at this Tier, you’ll be using Spirit Reagents to make both sorts of Potions, therefore there will be some material overlap. Arcana takes a total of 1,349 Potions to reach 150. The following materials are required:
Potent Health Remedy
Tier IV Medicinal Reagents: Lifebloom Flower 1 x
Petalcap / Loamy Lodestone / Earthshell Tail / Earthspine Stem / Earthspine Leaf / Earthspine Flower / Earth Mote / Earth Wisp / Earth Essence / Earth Quintessence
1 × Spirit Reagents: Bumbleblossom, Tubecap, Shellbed Cap, Crystalline Lodestone, Soulwyrm Tongue, Soulsprout Stem, Soulsprout Leaf, Soulsprout Flower, Dragon Fish Jaw, Soul Mote, Soul Wisp, Soul Essence, Soul Quintessence
1 bottle of water
Mana Potion of Great Power
Tier IV Magical Reagent: Soulsprout Flower 1
Twistcap Spiral / Suncreeper Tendril / Shocking Lodestone / Lightning Beetle / Shockbulb Stem / Shockbulb Leaf / Shockbulb Flower / Air Mote / Air Wisp / Air Essence / Air Quintessence 1 x Air Reagents
1 × Spirit Reagents: Bumbleblossom, Tubecap, Shellbed Cap, Crystalline Lodestone, Soulwyrm Tongue, Soulsprout Stem, Soulsprout Leaf, Soulsprout Flower, Dragon Fish Jaw, Soul Mote, Soul Wisp, Soul Essence, Soul Quintessence
1 bottle of water
Pt.2 of New World Arcana Leveling
As you can see, there is a lot of overlap between Tier III and IV Materials, such as Earth and Air Reagents, so simply follow the previous section for the most efficient collection locations. Take cautious not to utilize the Soulsprout Flower as a Spirit Reagent for either Potion, as there are several other possibilities for this Material Category, whereas the Soulsprout Flower is the only option for Tier IV Magical Reagents. The Soulsprout plant may be found in Monarch’s Bluffs, Windsward, and Everfall, although not in particularly high concentrations.Furthermore, both the Soulsprout Flower and the Lifebloom Flower are uncommon drops from their respective nodes, and gathering them will consume the majority of your time throughout this Tier of levels.
150-200 level
Arcana’s final leveling stretch will necessitate a total of 2,225 Potions. Given the number of resources necessary and the fact that these resources are frequently found in high-level locations, this undertaking may be fairly intimidating. Take your time and wait until you are at a level where you can tackle these topics if necessary.
Potion With Infusions of Health
Tier V Medicinal Reagents: Azoth Water, Lifemoth Eyes, and Poison Sac
Petalcap / Loamy Lodestone / Earthshell Tail / Earthspine Stem / Earthspine Leaf / Earthspine Flower / Earth Mote / Earth Wisp / Earth Essence / Earth Quintessence
1 × Spirit Reagents: Bumbleblossom, Tubecap, Shellbed Cap, Crystalline Lodestone, Soulwyrm Tongue, Soulsprout Stem, Soulsprout Leaf, Soulsprout Flower, Dragon Fish Jaw, Soul Mote, Soul Wisp, Soul Essence, Soul Quintessence
1 bottle of water
Mana Potion of Great Power
Tier V Magical Reagents: Soulwyrm Tongue / Dragon Fish Jaw 1 x
Twistcap Spiral / Suncreeper Tendril / Shocking Lodestone / Lightning Beetle / Shockbulb Stem / Shockbulb Leaf / Shockbulb Flower / Air Mote / Air Wisp / Air Essence / Air Quintessence 1 x Air Reagents
1 × Spirit Reagents: Bumbleblossom, Tubecap, Shellbed Cap, Crystalline Lodestone, Soulwyrm Tongue, Soulsprout Stem, Soulsprout Leaf, Soulsprout Flower, Dragon Fish Jaw, Soul Mote, Soul Wisp, Soul Essence, Soul Quintessence
1 bottle of water
Azoth Water may be found in modest quantities in the southeast part of Brightwood. More may be found in the high level locations of Mourningdale, Edengrove, Shattered Mountain, and Reekwater, with Reekwater having the highest concentration. You may also farm for Lifemoth Eyes, although they are uncommon species that are mostly found in higher level locations. Poison Sac is another alternative for Health Potions that may be caught from all sizes of Stingrays, with bigger varieties producing more sacs. Soulwyrm Tongue may be obtained from Soulwyrms in the vicinity of Ebonscale Reach and Reekwater, as well as from lower level regions in the vicinity of Brightwood and Windsward when gathering other Reagents.
