The Maruuk Centaur are the primary clans of Centaur that landed on the Dragon Isles long ago with the assistance of their guiding wild spirit, Ohn’ahra, during the first conflict with the Burning Legion. Despite being distributed over the Ohn’ahran Plains, these clans still gather in their ancestral hamlet of Maruukai to amicably discuss clan business and recall their friendship bond with the surrounding green dragonflight. Now that the clans have been shaken by an internal betrayal, it is up to you to keep the clans united against The Nokhud Offensive and keep their promise to aid the dragonflights against the threat of the Primalists.
You will initially obtain access to this Renown-based reputation when questing through the Ohn’ahran Plains zone early in Dragonflight. Progression begins with the mission Maruukai, which takes you to the Centaur house of the same name. You can also start the Orientation: Maruukai quest at this point to meet many of the important NPCs involved in the quest’s rewards. It should be noted, however, that you can still earn reputation with the Maruuk Centaur before you can claim any rewards for reaching higher Renown levels.
Although all Renown-based reputations in Dragonflight mostly contain “optional” rewards like mounts, cosmetic armor and weapon appearances, toys, battle pets, titles, and unique Dragonriding customizations, they also provide access to a variety of additional activities within the Dragon Isles that reward extra gear that may prove useful while initially gearing a character at Level 70. This is especially beneficial until Dragonflight Mythic+ Season One starts and the Vault of the Incarnates raid becomes available. Furthermore, keep in mind that many of the awards and features from this reputation are account-based unlocks with catch-up options for alts. This is especially useful if you want to obtain some of the unique Profession recipes that are only available at certain renown levels.
For the Maruuk Centaur in particular, here is a summary of all rewards available from maximizing its 25 Renown levels:
Although the Maruuk Centaur has many NPCs, there are a few that are more important because they are frequent vendors of its many Renown rewards. Their locations may be seen on the labeled map below.
In particular, you will want to meet up with Quartermaster Huseng in Maruukai, who will act as your quartermaster for most Maruuk Centaur rewards!
Aside from the cosmetic prizes available at various Renown levels, there are also a variety of Profession recipes available for purchase. Some of these may be extremely useful to you if you want to generate more Gold or learn more about your job! The recipes, as well as the required level of renown and relevant profession, are listed below.
Note that all of these recipes can be acquired from Quartermaster Huseng in Maruukai.
One of the key unlockable features of the Maruuk Centaur reputation is the ability to hunt with Clan Shikaar against various Dragon Isles beasts. This feature is unlocked for the first time at Renown level 5, though it is an account-wide unlock; that is, only one character needs to have reached this renown for any subsequent characters to participate.
These hunts are essentially extended world quest activities, with the goal of defeating a large number of beasts, powerful boss-level enemies, and gathering valuable resources for the centaur clans to use in Maruukai. When you complete your first hunt of the week, you will receive Grand Hunt Spoils, which contain Gold, Dragon Isles Supplies, gear, and even rare cosmetics such as the Plainswalker Bearer mount!
However, your benefits will be lowered with each consecutive hunt performed for a week (Grand Hunt Spoils, Grand Hunt Spoils, and finally Grand Hunt Spoils). You will earn no additional prizes after completing 6 hunts in a week. Remember, while the first completed hunt per character each week delivers the biggest prizes, you should not feel obligated to participate in every search.
