Diablo 4 Season 13: Season of Reckoning Overview
Season 13 of Diablo 4, titled Season of Reckoning, launched alongside the Lord of Hatred expansion on April 27, 2026. Unlike previous seasons with their standalone themes, Season 13 is a "systems season" built around permanent, game-changing upgrades: a full skill tree rework for all eight classes, the Horadric Cube, the Talisman charm system, War Plans, and a level cap increase to 70. If you missed Lord of Hatred's launch window, this guide breaks down everything you need to know to jump in now.
Season 13 Release Date and Timeline
Season of Reckoning launched on April 27, 2026 at 4:30 PM PDT, simultaneous with the Lord of Hatred expansion. Season 12 (Season of Slaughter) ended right before that. Season 13 is expected to run until approximately late June or early July 2026, with Season 14 estimated around June 30.

New Classes: Warlock and Paladin
Lord of Hatred brings two new classes, expanding the roster to eight total. Both classes arrived at Season 13 launch and are available to expansion owners.
Warlock
The Warlock uses curses, shadow magic, and demonic summoning. On launch, the Warlock already has 5 S-tier builds on major theory-crafting sites, making it one of the strongest classes right out of the gate. If you want to try Warlock at full power without the learning curve, check our Warlock Build Boost.
Paladin
The Paladin returns from Diablo 2 with auras, holy damage, and the tankiest survivability profile in the game. Key builds include Arbiter Disciple and Auradin. The class sits at A-tier for Pit pushing with a clear time around 2:30 at Pit 150.
Skill Tree Rework
Every class received a significant skill tree expansion in Patch 3.0. Trees now have more branching paths, more modifier nodes, and new synergy options. This is not a small tuning pass. Builds that worked in Season 12 may need complete re-speccing.
The rework affects all eight classes simultaneously, meaning the meta shifted heavily at Season 13 launch. If you need help figuring out the optimal build for your class, our build guides cover the current meta:
- Sorcerer Build Boost
- Barbarian Build Boost
- Rogue Build Boost
- Necromancer Build Boost
- Druid Build Boost
- Spiritborn Build Boost
Horadric Cube
The Horadric Cube is back from Diablo 2, rebuilt for Diablo 4. It is a crafting station that lets you:
- Add, remove, and reroll affixes on existing gear
- Reroll items of the same quality into a new random item
- Upgrade items across all rarity tiers
- Craft Unique Charms for the Talisman system
- Transmute items for various upgrades and outcomes
All Cube recipes use Primordial Dust, a new currency that drops from enemies. The Cube replaces a lot of the randomness in gearing. Instead of praying for the right drop, you can systematically craft toward your target stats.
Talisman System
The Talisman is a new gear slot that uses Seals and Charms to add bonus affixes and set bonuses to your character.
- Apply a Seal to the Talisman to unlock Charm slots (up to 6 slots depending on Seal quality)
- Fill the slots with Charms, each adding new affixes
- Match specific Charm combinations to activate Set Bonuses for additional power
The Talisman gives builds a new dimension of customization on top of gear, Paragon, and skill trees. Optimizing your Seal and Charm setup is essential for pushing high Torment tiers.
War Plans
War Plans let you build a custom playlist of up to five endgame activities. Choose from:
- Helltides
- Nightmare Dungeons
- The Pit
- Lair Bosses
- Kurast Undercity
- Tree of Whispers
Each activity in your War Plan rewards standard drops plus Activity Points that feed into per-activity reward trees. You can also apply modifiers to increase difficulty and rewards. War Plans essentially let you focus on the content you enjoy most while still progressing efficiently.
Need help clearing the hardest content on your War Plan? Our Nightmare Dungeons and Helltide services handle the toughest runs.
Echoing Hatred
Echoing Hatred is the ultimate build test in Season 13. Find a rare item called Trace of Echoes in the open world, use it, and you enter an infinite-wave survival arena. Enemies spawn endlessly, scaling up in difficulty until your build finally breaks. There is no winning. You just see how far your gear and skill can take you.
This is the mode where min-maxed builds truly separate themselves from "good enough" setups. If you want to push deep into Echoing Hatred, every affix and every Talisman Charm matters.
Level Cap 70 and Torment Tiers
The level cap increased from 60 to 70 with Lord of Hatred. After reaching 70 and clearing The Pit at tier 10, you unlock Torment 1 difficulty via the World Statue. Torment tiers now go up to Torment 12, with each tier roughly corresponding to Pit levels:
| Torment Tier | Approximate Pit Level |
|---|---|
| T1 | Pit 10 |
| T3 | Pit ~30 |
| T6 | Pit ~60 |
| T9 | Pit ~80 |
| T12 | Pit ~100+ |
Higher Torment tiers drop better loot, more Primordial Dust, and unlock exclusive crafting recipes in the Horadric Cube.
Loot Filter
The built-in loot filter lets you tag and categorize items using labels, color-coding, and filters. You can:
- Highlight items with specific affixes you want
- Hide items below a certain item power threshold
- Recolor drops by rarity for instant visual identification
- Create multiple filter presets for different farming activities
If you have been playing Diablo 4 without a loot filter since launch, this one feature alone will transform your farming speed.
Reliquary Battle Pass
Season 13 introduced the Reliquary Battle Pass, replacing the old linear battle pass. Instead of unlocking rewards in order, you choose which Reliquary to focus on:
- Season of Reckoning Reliquary (free for all players)
- Weapons Reliquary (Premium)
- Beasts Reliquary (Premium)
- Armor Reliquary (Premium)
Farm in-game Tokens to unlock cosmetic rewards. The Deluxe Battle Pass gives instant access to the exclusive Hallowed Ancient armor set.
Season Ranking
Season Ranking has up to 9 ranks with rewards including Resplendent Sparks, crafting caches, and cosmetics. The Loathroot pet from Rank 6 is one of the standout rewards this season.
