Unlocking Flying in Shadowlands 9.2

The ability to soar through the skies of Zereth Mortis in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is a thrilling experience that players can unlock by completing the achievement Unlocking the Secrets. This achievement is a collection of six sub-achievements that will grant you account-wide flying access in the Zereth Mortis zones. Before we delve into the specifics, it's crucial to ensure you've unlocked flying in the Shadowlands itself. If you haven't, don't worry; we'll guide you through the process.

Basic Shadowlands Flying

Before beginning your journey to unlock flying in Zereth Mortis, you must first ensure you have flying unlocked in the Shadowlands. Since the release of Patch 9.1, Chains of Domination, players have had the opportunity to earn flying. Unlike previous expansions, there's no need to complete a lengthy Pathfinder achievement. Instead, flying in the Shadowlands is unlocked through the item Memories of Sunless Skies. This item grants account-wide flying access within the Shadowlands and is obtained by completing the Korthia questline. Make sure to complete this before tackling Zereth Mortis flying.

💡 Tip: Unlocking flying in the Shadowlands first will make your journey through Zereth Mortis much faster and more enjoyable!

How Long Does it Take to Unlock Flying in Patch 9.2?

All achievements required for flying in Patch 9.2 are accessible from day one. However, a notable exception is the achievement A Means to an End, which is time-gated and becomes available at the start of the fourth week. Therefore, it will take over three weeks to unlock Zereth Mortis flying in Patch 9.2.

Flying Requirements in Patch 9.2

The meta-achievement Unlocking the Secrets entails completing six achievements. While four of these do not have specific requirements, two require completing particular chapters of the 9.2 Campaign.

  • Explore Zereth Mortis

  • Curious Collections

  • Path to Enlightenment

  • Tales of the Exile

  • Adventures in Zereth Mortis

  • A Means to an End

Explore Zereth Mortis

This achievement requires you to explore all key locations within the Zereth Mortis zone. Simply visiting each location will unlock the achievement. Here are the locations you must visit:

  • Path of Inception

  • The Great Veldt

  • Terrace of Formation

  • Deserted Overlook

  • The Dread Portal

  • Genesis Fields

  • Pilgrim’s Grace

  • Arrangement Index

  • Resonant Peaks

  • Haven

  • Faith’s Repose

  • Catalyst Gardens

  • Dimensional Falls

  • Provis Fauna

  • Zovaal’s Grasp

  • Plain of Actualization

  • Lexical Glade

Curious Collections

To complete Curious Collections, you need to discover five hidden treasures in Zereth Mortis. While any five treasures will count, many require solving specific puzzles. Successfully completing these puzzles grants access to the hidden treasures and credits you for the achievement.

🔍 Note: Use HandyNotes or similar add-ons to make locating these treasures easier!

Tales of the Exile

The Tales of the Exile achievement involves finding the seven pages of Firim in Exile across Zereth Mortis. These pages are easily identifiable by a large yellow dot on the ground. However, they disappear a short time after being looted and will respawn 5-10 minutes later.

Adventures in Zereth Mortis

For Adventures in Zereth Mortis, you need to kill ten rare mobs within the zone. These rare mobs are abundant and can be found throughout Zereth Mortis. Using add-ons like RareScanner can expedite your search for these elusive creatures.

Path to Enlightenment

To unlock Path to Enlightenment, you must first complete Chapter 3 of the 9.2 Campaign, Forming an Understanding. This chapter is also necessary to unlock the Zereth Mortis introductory skip for your alternate characters. The achievement entails completing three side quest lines in Zereth Mortis, each comprising multiple quests that often earn reputation with The Enlightened.

A Means to an End

Initially, you will need to finish Chapter 5 of the 9.2 Campaign. The achievement A Means to an End requires completing the sixth chapter of the Zereth Mortis 9.2 campaign. This chapter becomes available at the start of the fourth week. Complete the final quest Arbiter in the Making to conclude this storyline chapter. This is likely the final achievement needed to unlock flying in Zereth Mortis, so congratulations on your accomplishment!

Enlightened Reputation and Benefits

Reputation within Zereth Mortis holds significant importance. By increasing your reputation, you can enhance crafting items up to level 262 with Recipe: Crafter's Mark of the First Ones. Additionally, you can unlock Memory of Unity for your account, allowing you to craft your Covenant Legendary in any slot, which offers substantial advantages for some classes. An Eternal Augment Rune, granting a permanent boost to your primary stats, is also available. Furthermore, reputation grants access to mounts such as Heartlight Stone or Anointed Protostag Reins. Unlocking flying in Patch 9.2 early allows quicker access to these rewards by enabling you to traverse Zereth Mortis more efficiently, slaying rare mobs and completing local quests.

🚀 Tip: Maximize your reputation gains by completing daily quests and world quests in Zereth Mortis!
