WoW Midnight Delves Guide: Complete Map, Rewards & Strategy
What Are Delves in Midnight?
Delves are short, replayable 5-player adventures that you can tackle solo or with a group. They're designed to fit into your schedule without eating up hours. Unlike dungeons, delves don't require a tank/healer/DPS setup because they scale to your group composition.
Every delve runs 10-15 minutes, making them perfect for grinding rewards between raid nights or M+ keys. They contribute to your Great Vault progress and award gear, crafting materials, and cosmetics.
Each delve has 11 difficulty tiers. Lower tiers are beginner-friendly, but higher tiers ramp up the challenge and rewards significantly. The sweet spot for most players is Tier 8-10 once you've geared up a bit.
All Delves: Season 1 & Season 2
Delves are spread across Midnight's zones. Here's the full breakdown across both seasons:
| Delve Name | Zone | Theme | Season |
|---|---|---|---|
| Collegiate Calamity | Eversong Woods | Magical academy dungeon with mage enemies | S1 |
| The Darkway | Eversong Woods | Underground shadow-themed passage | S1 |
| Atal'Aman | Zul'Aman | Ancient troll ruins | S1 |
| Twilight Crypts | Zul'Aman | Undead catacombs and tombs | S1 |
| Grudge Pit | Harandar | Gladiator arena with demons | S1 |
| Gulf of Memory | Harandar | Ethereal void landscape | S1 |
| Shadowguard Point | Voidstorm | Corrupted void fortress | S1 |
| Sunkiller Sanctum | Voidstorm | Dark temple complex | S1 |
| Parhelion Plaza | Isle of Quel'Danas | Destroyed Sunwell plaza | S1 |
| Shadow Enclave | Isle of Quel'Danas | Shadow Priest stronghold | S1 |
| The Ring of Glory | Crystalline Grove | Ancient Titan arena with crystal guardians | S2 |
| Gnarldor Isle | Twisted Depths | Corrupted nature stronghold with beasts | S2 |
| Venomfall Deeps | Serpent Wastes | Venomous cave network with poison mechanics | S2 Nemesis |
The Darkway and Parhelion Plaza rolled out on staggered schedules in Season 1. In Season 2, existing Midnight delves get snake and venom-themed story variants to tie into the new narrative.
Nemesis Delve: Torment's Rise (Season 1)
In Midnight Season 1, you face Nullaeus in Torment's Rise. Beating him awards exclusive cosmetics and the coveted "Let Me Solo Him" achievement if you run it solo (hence the meme name). The mount reward is a major flex.
Nemesis Delve: Venomfall Deeps (Season 2)
Season 2 introduces Venomfall Deeps as the new Nemesis Delve. Located in the Serpent Wastes, this delve features a completely new boss and poison-focused mechanics. The encounter is significantly harder than Season 1's Nemesis and requires coordinated group play or exceptional solo skill. Clearing Venomfall Deeps drops exclusive cosmetics, rare transmog gear, and a season-exclusive mount.
Valeera Sanguinar: Your Delve Companion
Unlike Brann from previous delves, Midnight introduces Valeera Sanguinar as your new delve companion. She's flexible: swap her role between Tank, Healer, or DPS depending on your spec and group composition.
Running a solo rogue? Slap Valeera in tank mode. Healing with a group of three melee DPS? Put her in healer mode. She scales to the delve tier you're running and provides solid damage or survivability.
You pick up Valeera's quests at the Delver's Headquarters in Silvermoon City. The introductory chain is quick and teaches you how companion roles work.
Delve Rewards and Item Levels
Rewards scale with difficulty tier. Higher tiers reward better item level gear and more crafting materials.
Season 1 Rewards
| Difficulty Tier | Gear Item Level | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 1-3 | 359-379 | Fresh characters |
| Tier 4-6 | 389-402 | Gearing up alts |
| Tier 7-9 | 415-428 | Raid-ready push |
| Tier 10-11 | 441+ | Mythic+ progression |
Beyond gear, delves drop crafting materials like Voidlight Marl, which feed into profession crafts. You also get cosmetics, mounts, and achievement toys.
Every delve you complete counts toward your Great Vault weekly lockout, so running 8-10 delves per week gets you raid-tier rewards at the end of the week.
Season 2 Delve Changes
Season 2 brings significant updates to delve progression and rewards:
Three New Delves. The Ring of Glory, Gnarldor Isle, and Venomfall Deeps expand endgame farming options. Each ties into the season's serpent and venom narrative.
Story Variants. Existing Midnight delves receive new snake and venom-themed quest lines and environmental storytelling. Running Collegiate Calamity in Season 2 offers different flavor text and lore callbacks than Season 1.
Bountiful Delves. Starting Season 2, Bountiful Delves rotate weekly and offer bonus rewards. These modifiers stack additional mechanics on top of base delves, rewarding skilled players with higher material drops and rare cosmetics.
New Mistcrest Tiers. Season 2 introduces fresh Mistcrest gear variants that upgrade from Season 1 equivalents.
Season 2 Delve Rewards
| Reward Tier | Gear Type | Item Level | Earned From |
|---|---|---|---|
| T4 Rewards | Adventurer Mistcrests | 259-276 | Tier 4 Delves |

Tips for Higher Tiers
Once you hit Tier 7+, delves start punishing mistakes. Here's how to push past Tier 9:
Gear Appropriately. Don't jump from Tier 5 to Tier 9. Work your way up. Each tier is noticeably harder than the last, and you want time to learn mechanics.
Optimize Your Spec. Bring your best PvE build with proper talents and stat priority. The delve tracker will show your group comp before you start; lean into synergies (healer + melee damage dealers vs. ranged spam, etc.).
Use Your Companion Wisely. At Tier 8+, your companion choice matters. If you're a bursty caster, tank mode Valeera keeps you alive through tight spots. If you're a support hybrid, healer mode lets you focus DPS.
Learn the Pulls. Higher tier enemies have more health and damage. Don't pull 3+ packs at once unless you're confident. Take your time, CC dangerous enemies, and use crowd control interrupts on casters.
Coordinate with Your Group. If you're running with others, mark targets, call out mechanics, and stay grouped. Delves aren't forgiving of scattered play at Tier 9+.
Need the highest tier rewards fast? Our Delves Boost clears Tier 10-11 delves, farming gear and materials for you. Hit your Great Vault cap without the grind.
FAQ
Can I run delves solo?
Yes. Delves scale to group size and composition. Solo players get a companion and easier mechanics. Valeera adjusts to your role, so you're never completely alone.
Do delves count toward PvP gear rating requirements?
No. Delve gear is PvE-only item level and doesn't count for PvP item level requirements. You need PvP gear from arenas or rated battlegrounds to enter PvP content.
What's the fastest way to farm delve rewards?
Run the delves you find fastest and most fun. Pick a tier you can clear consistently in under 12 minutes. Tier 8-9 is the sweet spot for most players: fast enough to run 5+ per session, hard enough that rewards are worthwhile.
Are Season 1 delves still farmable in Season 2?
Yes. All Season 1 delves remain active and farmable. Season 2 adds new content on top rather than replacing it, so you have more delves to choose from when rotating through weekly activities.
