Seat of the Triumvirate Mythic+ Dungeon Guide - WoW Midnight Season 1
Seat of the Triumvirate Overview
Seat of the Triumvirate returns from Legion as a formidable Mythic+ dungeon in Midnight's rotation. Located on Argus in the Eredath zone, this void-corrupted stronghold represents one of the longest dungeon runs in the rotation at 34 minutes on the timer. With four bosses and mechanical depth, Triumvirate demands both execution and adaptation.
The Midnight version maintains the Legion-era theme of fighting against void corruption but with completely retuned numbers and updated mechanics that sync with Midnight's adjusted power levels. Void damage hits harder than most people expect, and the arena hazards can catch unprepared groups off guard. Many of the boss mechanics from Legion return but with added twists that make them feel fresh.
In our high-key runs, Seat of the Triumvirate consistently ranks as one of the most challenging dungeons in the rotation due to mechanical density and void damage amplification on higher affixes. Groups that handle mechanics cleanly progress smoothly. Groups that ignore mechanics get punished fast.
Boss 1 -- Zuraal the Ascended
This opening encounter is relatively straightforward compared to later bosses but serves as a good warmup for understanding void mechanics. Zuraal relies on empowerment phases and area denial to create pressure.
Void Empowerment: Zuraal channels energy that empowers his attacks. During this phase, his auto-attacks hit significantly harder and apply stacking debuffs to the tank. You can't prevent empowerment, only survive it. Tank cooldowns are critical here. Rotate your mitigation and make sure your healer knows when you're burning a big defensive.
Decimate: Zuraal casts an attack that hits all players in a line from his position. The impact creates a void crater that damages players standing in it and lasts for the rest of the fight. Safe positioning is key. Position the boss to aim Decimate at the arena edges where it doesn't block your movement space. As the fight progresses, the arena fills with craters, so efficient positioning becomes critical.
Oozing Slam: Every 25 seconds, Zuraal slams the ground, creating void pools that persist. These pools apply void corruption DoT to anyone standing in them. Combined with Decimate craters, your safe space shrinks constantly. Keep moving and position the boss to push craters toward arena edges.
Enrage: Below 30% health, Zuraal enrages and attacks faster. This is a soft DPS check. If you can't push him below 30% reasonably fast, you'll run out of arena space from crater accumulation. Blow cooldowns and finish the fight.
Boss 2 -- Saprish
This tactical commander adds complexity through bomb mechanics and pet interactions. Saprish forces your group to think several moves ahead while managing multiple threat sources.
Void Bombs: Saprish deploys void bombs across the battlefield at specific intervals. These bombs sit dormant for a time before detonating. During this window, your group can split up and avoid the impact zones. Prediction is key. Watch where bombs land and plan escape routes. Failing to avoid bombs deals significant area damage and applies void corruption.
Darkfang's Shadow Pounce: Saprish commands his pet Darkfang to pounce on players, applying shadow damage and a short stun. This ability interrupts casting, so casters need to be ready to resume spells or move to safety. Darkfang is attackable but typically isn't a priority target unless you need to interrupt a specific ability.
Overload Phase: When Saprish reaches full energy, he triggers Overload, which ignites all void bombs simultaneously. If multiple bombs go off near your group, you take catastrophic damage. Your goal is to prevent overlapping bomb detonations by positioning spread. During overload, stagger your group's positions so no two players are close together.
Strategy: Move as a unit away from bomb spawn zones. When overload triggers, be positioned so your group can spread to distinct bomb positions. This forces group coordination and communication. One player stands near each bomb at overload time to soak its damage safely. It's a choreographed fight more than a traditional DPS race.
Boss 3 -- Viceroy Nezhar
This encounter raises mechanical complexity with collapsing void energy and multiple add targets. Nezhar punishes inattention and demands coordinated focus fire on priority targets.
Void Storms: Nezhar summons void energy that forms collapsing Void Storms after a short delay. These storms move toward the boss's center, crushing anyone caught in them. When storms begin collapsing, move away from their origin point and avoid the center of the arena. Each storm deals void damage and applies stacking corruption.
Umbral Tentacles: Nezhar channels tentacles that target random players with Mind Flay. These tentacles must be interrupted or your target takes continuous damage until the channel ends. Assign interrupt rotations so tentacles don't sit unmolested. If you have multiple interrupt classes, coordinate to prevent double-interrupting the same target.
Void Infusion: After tentacles finish channeling, they apply Void Infusion to affected players. This increases void damage taken for 20 seconds. Stacking infusions leads to spike damage deaths, so spread out during tentacle phases to split the debuff across your group.
Tank Positioning: Hold Nezhar away from storm impact zones. As storms form and collapse, tank needs to move the boss to open arena space. This is one of the most movement-intensive tank fights in the rotation. Communicate position changes in advance so your group can follow safely.
Boss 4 -- L'ura
The final encounter presents a unique mechanic where player interaction directly counters boss abilities. L'ura forces your group to participate actively in mechanics rather than passively avoiding them.
Notes of Despair: L'ura summons ethereal notes that continuously damage the group and apply stacking despair debuffs. Unlike most trash adds, Notes can't be killed directly. Instead, they must be silenced using Discordant Beams. When a note spawns, players must stand in Discordant Beams to silence it and stop its damage. This forces your entire group to group up repeatedly.
Discordant Beams: L'ura channels beams that silence notes when players stand in them. The catch: standing in beams deals void damage to players over time. You need to balance silencing notes before damage spirals against taking beam damage yourself. This creates a triage situation where your healer needs to decide when group safety overrides individual damage.
Alleria's Assistance: Throughout the fight, Alleria Windrunner appears to help your group with crowd control abilities. She stuns waves of notes periodically, giving your group breathing room. Use these windows to reposition and prepare for the next phase. She's not actively controlled by your raid, but her timing is predictable.
Phase Management: Early in the fight, notes spawn slowly and you have time to silence them without rushing. As L'ura's health drops, note spawns accelerate. Below 50%, multiple notes spawn simultaneously. Your group must stack tightly and rotate through Discordant Beams to manage the wave. Healing becomes the hardest role on this boss since you're all taking beam damage while managing health.
Mythic+ Tips for Seat of the Triumvirate
Trash Management: Seat of the Triumvirate's trash involves void casters that need interrupt rotations and melee adds that hit moderately hard. Pull trash into tight formations and focus-fire threats. Many packs can be interrupted to prevent damage completely. Use your utility cooldowns liberally on dangerous packs. The dungeon has significant trash density, so efficient trash clearing is crucial for timer management.
Dangerous Pulls: The pull before Saprish consists of void constructs that spawn adds. Spread out initially to prevent add spawns from clustering. The trash corridor before Viceroy Nezhar includes casters that spam void damage AOE. Use defensive cooldowns and interrupt heavily. The final trash before L'ura has tentacle-like enemies that channel, requiring consistent interrupts or you'll take sustained damage.
Route Optimization: At 34 minutes, Seat of the Triumvirate has the longest timer in Midnight's rotation, giving you significant flexibility. Focus on clean execution over rushing. Most trash is avoidable if you navigate carefully through the dungeon. Take shortcuts where possible and skip optional packs. A smooth run should finish around 25-27 minutes, giving you a healthy timer buffer.
Affix Synergies: Fortified weeks make trash packs significantly more threatening since void damage hits harder on larger packs. Tyrannical weeks force you to manage healer cooldowns carefully on boss encounters. Explosive and Volcanic affixes layer additional arena hazards onto void mechanics, creating positioning chaos. Be extra cautious with environmental awareness during these affix weeks. Cold Snap (if active) refreshes void corruption applications, turning them into ticking time bombs.

FAQ
How do I manage void damage on Seat of the Triumvirate as a DPS?
Void damage is unavoidable on this dungeon, but it's manageable with positioning and cooldown awareness. Spread out during high void-damage phases to avoid stacking debuffs. Use defensive cooldowns proactively, not reactively. Watch your corruption stacks and let your healer know if you're heavily stacked. Most void damage is temporary if you move out of zones quickly.
Should my group split or stack during Saprish's Overload?
You should be spread out BEFORE Overload triggers. During the phase leading to Overload, position your group so each player is near a different bomb location. When Overload fires, each bomb detonates and your spread positioning means no two players take the same bomb. This requires pre-planning the positions with your group.
What's the hardest part of Seat of the Triumvirate for most groups?
L'ura typically causes the most wipes because it requires your entire group to coordinate stacking and spreading repeatedly. Many groups struggle with the simultaneous healing and beam-dodging phases. Communication is key. Call out note spawns and coordinate beam positioning. If you can survive L'ura cleanly, the rest of the dungeon is manageable.
