What's New in WoW Midnight
WoW Midnight launched March 2, 2026, and it's a massive return to form for the expansion. Blizzard packed the launch with four new zones, player housing, a brand new Devourer Demon Hunter void spec, 10 fresh delves, and three raid tiers with 9 bosses total. After weeks of testing in beta, our team can confirm: this expansion feels packed with meaningful content from day one.
The four zones—Eversong Woods, Zul'Aman, Harandar, and Voidstorm—are beautifully designed and stuffed with side content. World quests feel rewarding again. Delves solo and group content sit in a sweet spot between casual and challenging. If you've been burned out on WoW, Midnight genuinely feels like a fresh start.
The standout feature for us is the Devourer Demon Hunter. This new void-based DPS spec turns Demon Hunters into 25-yard casters that build soul fragments and unleash cosmic damage. It's completely different from Havoc and Vengeance, and it's already proving to be one of the most fun specs in the game.
Midnight Season 1 Release Schedule
Season 1 kicked off on March 17, 2026, but Blizzard is staggering the raid and M+ openings. Here's what you need to know:
| Date | Content | Details |
|---|---|---|
| March 2 | Expansion Launch | Early access for some, full launch for all. Mythic 0 dungeons available. |
| March 17 | Season 1 Begins | Raids open on Normal, Heroic, Raid Finder. Delves start. PvP season begins. |
| March 17 | The Voidspire & The Dreamrift | First two raids open: Voidspire (6 bosses) and Dreamrift (1 boss) on three difficulties. |
| March 24 | Mythic Raids + Mythic+ | Mythic difficulty opens for Voidspire. Mythic+ dungeons go live with the eight-dungeon rotation. |
| March 31 | March on Quel'Danas Opens | The third and final raid (2 bosses) opens on Normal, Heroic, Mythic difficulties. |
| April 7 | Everything Live | All content accessible. Full Midnight season 1 lineup available. |
The phased release is smart. It means fresh raiding content drops in a predictable rhythm, so guilds have time to progress before the next tier unlocks. If you're planning your Midnight season 1 guide reading, this schedule is your north star.
Midnight Raids Overview
Three raids. Nine bosses. This is the core raid tier for Midnight season 1, and they're well-designed encounters across multiple difficulties. We've tested them extensively, and here's what you'll face:
The Voidspire (6 bosses, Voidstorm zone) is the flagship raid. It opens March 17 on Normal and Heroic, with Mythic difficulty arriving March 24. This is where you'll spend most of your time pushing progression. The encounters blend mechanics that reward coordination and individual execution. Expect a solid mix of tank, healer, and DPS checks.
The Dreamrift (1 boss, Harandar) opens the same day as Voidspire. It's a mini-raid that doesn't feel like filler. The encounter has mechanics that escalate in complexity based on difficulty, and it's a solid loot pinata once you gear up for it.
March on Quel'Danas (2 bosses, Eversong Woods) doesn't open until March 31, giving you two weeks to farm Voidspire and Dreamrift before moving on. These encounters are tuned tighter than the first two raids, so save them for after you've had some gear progression.

Need a hand clearing raids? Our Midnight Raids Bundle covers all three raids with full loot in one package. Prefer individual runs? The Heroic Raid Carry gets you geared fast on your own schedule.
Mythic+ Season 1 Dungeons
Mythic+ doesn't go live until March 24, but when it does, you're looking at eight dungeons in the seasonal rotation. Four are new to Midnight; four are legacy dungeons that rotate back in for fresh loot and affixes.
| Dungeon | Zone / Expansion | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Windrunner Spire | Eversong Woods / Midnight | New |
| Magisters' Terrace | Eversong Woods / Midnight | New Remake |
| Maisara Caverns | Harandar / Midnight | New |
| Nexus-Point Xenas | Voidstorm / Midnight | New |
| Algeth'ar Academy | Dragon Isles / Dragonflight | Legacy |
| Pit of Saron | Frozen Citadel / Wrath of the Lich King | Legacy |
| Seat of the Triumvirate | Argus / Legion | Legacy |
| Skyreach | Spire of Arak / Warlords of Draenor | Legacy |
The new dungeons are solid. Windrunner Spire feels challenging on high keys. Maisara Caverns has some punishing mob packs that demand crowd control and coordination. The legacy dungeons bring nostalgic routes with fresh affixes each week, so route optimization changes every season.

Going for Keystone Master? Our KSM Carry gets you to 15+ on all eight dungeons, saving you weeks of grinding and RNG frustration.
Best Classes in Midnight Season 1
Class balance is tight in Midnight, but some specs are clearly ahead of the pack. We've tested all the meta specs in raids and Mythic+ keys, and here's where we stand:
| Role | S-Tier | A-Tier | Why They Excel |
|---|---|---|---|
| DPS | Demo Warlock, Arcane Mage | Unholy DK, Devourer DH | Demo has single-target damage and Hell Stones utility. Arcane owns AoE. Unholy brings burst and sustain. |
| Healer | Resto Druid, Holy Paladin | Discipline Priest | Resto Druids have insane HPS and utility. Holy Paladins deliver burst healing and survivability tools. |
| Tank | Guardian Druid, Brewmaster Monk | Vengeance DH | Guardian dominates with armor scaling. Brewmaster offers huge damage reduction through stagger mechanics. |
The big story in Midnight season 1 is the Devourer Demon Hunter. This new void spec brings something genuinely fresh to DPS rotations. It's not top-tier yet—the meta is still settling—but it's viable, engaging, and fun. If you've been looking for a reason to level an alt, Devourer is it.

Want to reroll? Our Leveling Boost gets your alt from 80 to 90 in hours, not days, so you can start gearing immediately.
How to Gear Up in Midnight
The gearing path in Midnight season 1 is straightforward. You start in Mythic 0 dungeons and work your way up through raid tiers. Here's the optimal path we recommend:
Phase 1 (March 17-24): Farm Mythic 0 dungeons and Heroic Voidspire + Dreamrift. This gets you to 528 item level in a week. Delves are also solid for off-spec pieces and exploring the new content.
Phase 2 (March 24-31): Push Mythic+ keys as they open (start around +2 to +5 and climb). Normal March on Quel'Danas becomes available. You should hit 535-540 item level here.
Phase 3 (March 31+): Shift focus to Mythic raids and higher M+ keys. By mid-April, you'll have access to everything. Gear from Mythic difficulty raids (558+) is your endgame target.
This progression feels natural. You're never stuck waiting for reset or feeling locked out of content. The item level curve in Midnight season 1 guide content is generous enough that even casual players can stay relevant through multiple difficulty tiers.

Delves and Player Housing
Midnight brings a completely revamped Delves system alongside the new Player Housing feature. Both systems launch March 17 and offer tons of solo and group content outside of the traditional raid and dungeon treadmill.
Delves are instanced four-player content that scale to group size. Ten brand new delves debut with Midnight season 1, plus one Nemesis Delve that's tuned harder for serious pushers. They drop meaningful loot, have hidden secrets, and feel rewarding even on repeat runs. You can farm them solo or with friends.
Player Housing

PvP in Midnight Season 1
The PvP season kicked off March 17, 2026. Arena and Rated Battlegrounds are live with seasonal rewards and a full ladder reset. Class balance for PvP is slightly different from PvE, so don't assume your raid spec crushes in arenas.

Frequently Asked Questions
When does WoW Midnight Season 1 start?
WoW Midnight season 1 begins March 17, 2026. Raids launch on Normal and Heroic difficulty that day. Mythic raids and Mythic+ dungeons unlock March 24. The final raid (March on Quel'Danas) opens March 31. This phased release keeps content feeling fresh for the entire month.
How many raids are in Midnight?
There are three raids with nine bosses total in Midnight season 1. The Voidspire has six bosses, The Dreamrift has one, and March on Quel'Danas has two. All three raids open progressively throughout March, with the last one arriving March 31.
What are the best classes in WoW Midnight?
The meta classes in Midnight season 1 are Demo Warlock and Arcane Mage for DPS, Resto Druid and Holy Paladin for healing, and Guardian Druid or Brewmaster Monk for tanks. All specs are viable though, and class balance is the tightest we've seen in years. Don't let tier lists lock you into playing something you don't enjoy.
Is WoW Midnight worth playing?
Yes. The expansion feels substantial, well-paced, and genuinely fun. Four new zones, three raids, eight new Mythic+ dungeons, Player Housing, Delves, and a fresh class spec (Devourer DH) add up to a solid content package. If you've been on the fence about returning to WoW, Midnight justifies the subscription.
What is the Devourer Demon Hunter?
Devourer is the third Demon Hunter specialization, debuting in Midnight. It's a 25-yard caster spec that deals Cosmic damage, builds Soul Fragments, and transforms into Void Metamorphosis for burst windows. It plays like a mobile caster, not a melee spec. It's fresh, powerful, and incredibly fun to level.
When do Mythic+ dungeons go live?
Mythic+ dungeons open March 24, 2026, one week after the Midnight season 1 guide launch date. Mythic 0 versions are available earlier, but the +2 and above scaling tiers launch at that time.
Can I solo Delves?
Yes. Delves scale to solo, two-player, three-player, and four-player group sizes. Solo Delves are tuned for a single player to clear, so you don't need a group. This makes them perfect for warming up, testing builds, or grinding mats on your schedule.
